中华传统文化博大精深,源远流长。英语新课标指出将中华传统文化融入英语课堂,让学生在学习语言和西方各国文化的同时,守好祖国的文化之根,树立文化自信。并能在英语学习中实现中国文化与西方文化的交流,培养文化意识,提升跨文化交际能力。在充分的文化实践和文化传播中培育中国情怀,坚定文化自信,树立人类命运共同体意识。

教学设计
教学方法是现阶段的一种新型教学方法,追本溯源来说,分层教学的观点在两千多年之前指导思想(设计思路):
本节课是传统文化进课程之端午——英语篇。我选择了网上的一篇文章作为阅读文本,考虑到教学对象是八年级的学生,生词量过多,我对原文本进行了部分删改。文本是一篇说明文,所以我在设计时主要注重学生对文本本身和文本结构的理解。考虑到有关端午节的生词仍然比较多,我在设计中多处设置了根据上下文猜测词义的环节,提升学生的阅读技巧和阅读能力。读前主要是学生自由会话,谈一谈对端午节了解多少,唤起他们已有的认知经验;读中,首先分析文本结构,然后逐个段落开展阅读活动;读后,邀请学生以思维导图(按照端午节是什么,为什么,怎么样的逻辑展开)的形式总结全文内容,再根据思维导图进行复述。为了增加课堂的思维含量,提升学生对传统文化的认知和文化自信,设置了思考题:过端午节的意义是什么。最后设置了小组活动,比较端午节和其他的中国传统节日,微写作,写一写最喜欢的节日是什么以及为什么。
教材分析:阅读文本是一篇介绍端午节的说明文,从日期、历史、活动以及饮食等角度叙述端午节的习俗。文本结构清晰,每个段落介绍关于端午节的某一个方面。文本阅读的难点在于文本中有不少与端午节相关的生词,学生对中文可能比较熟悉,但是英文却很陌生。除了文本之外,还借助了视频,帮助学生更好地理解语篇内容,训练学生看的能力。
学情分析:本节课的授课对象是八年级的学生,他们在七年级时已经学过有关节日的语篇(万圣节和春节),积累了一定的词汇、短语和句型,为更好地理解本文奠定了知识基础。但是他们对端午节的认知主要集中在几个常见的活动上,在阅读过程中,生词构成的阅读障碍较大,所以本课重点之一是培养学生根据上下文猜测词义的能力。另外一个难点是如何将这个节日用英语讲给外国人听,传播中国传统文化,因此我设计了复述的环节,让学生借助思维导图用英语讲好中国故事。

教学反思:
本节课聚焦词汇、语言的习得,可以有效地帮助同学们理解文本的结构及内容,但是不足之处在于,因为是分析一篇说明文,对端午节作为传统文化重要组成部分的内涵挖掘虽有涉及,但还是不够深入,学生能够用英语完整地讲述端午节,但是对其背后隐藏的价值还没有很深刻的体会,思维深度还不够。希望在今后的教学中,能够注意对文本beyond the lines的主题意义的挖掘。

The Dragon Boat Festival is an official public holiday in China. This traditionalholiday, also called the Double Fifth Festival, is celebrated on the 5th day ofthe 5th month of the Chinese lunar calendar (日历).
It is summer time when the Dragon Boat Festival comes. It is a day to commemoratethe patriotic (爱国的)poet, Qu Yuan (屈原)from the Warring States period (战国时代)of China.
People will participate in Dragon Boat race on that day. It is now an internationalevent in Taiwan and Hong Kong with teams from all over the world.
Chinese people also eat rice balls wrapped in the bamboo leaves with all kinds offillings inside. These rice dumplings are called Zòngzi 粽子in Mandarin Chinese.
The drink for this festival is realgar wine (雄黄酒).For kids, the adults will put a dot of realgar wine (yellowish color) on theirforeheads to prevent disease (疾病)and evil spirit (妖怪).
